If an X-ray screener identifies a bag that requires a secondary manual search, NDS enables the search operator to reconcile the scanned bag image (and highlighted threat objects) with the contents of the actual bag. Because NDS provides a common image link between personnel that perform different tasks at a security checkpoint, it improves threat detection and simplifies operating procedures. The reference image also increases checkpoint throughput by eliminating the need to stop the conveyor flow when bags are identified for manual inspections.
The Network Display Station is physically located where the search operator performs the manual inspection. NDS operators can perform the full range of image processing functions including Rapiscan Systems' Crystal Clear©, zoom and organic-inorganic stripping. Operators can even connect a document scanner and link other documents (passports, boarding passes etc.), append notes and archive or print images for future reference. The NDS can be operated on the same network with other Rapiscan Systems networking solutions and can be linked to multiple X-ray machines. |
