The Rapiscan 620DV AT -- Dual View Advanced Technology X-Ray Screening

Existing single view X-ray systems have been used effectively for many years, but suffer from some known limitations. A skilled operator can effectively use these systems to screen for knives, guns, and to an extent certain explosives, but his or her ability to detect threat items is greatly reduced within bags that have a high degree of clutter or are densely packed.

The Rapiscan 620DV AT system uses Dual View Advanced Technology to address the challenges of screening increasingly complex baggage by capturing different angles of scan information. The Rapiscan 620DV AT performs an additional X-ray scan at an angle perpendicular to the first scan, which in turn enhances an operator’s ability to visually identify threat items, such as concealed explosives.

The Rapiscan 620DV AT is based upon Rapiscan Systems’ OS600 operating system, which was designed to meet worldwide regulatory standards. The system is also enhanced with our new “Organic Threat Highlight Imaging” step process feature for improved visual processing of explosive and liquid threats.
